BA (Hons) Social Work Undergraduate

Harriett Owens, is one of 14 Leeds Beckett first year students to be selected for the University’s annual Bright Futures Scholarships.

Harriett, aged 20, and a former pupil of Huddersfield Kirklees College, said she was delighted to receive the scholarship. She commented: "It’s a real honour for me to be selected for a Bright Futures Scholarship as it shows that my commitment to my studies and my hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. I’ll use this funding for course-related materials such as textbooks. Having my own copies of these books will make a real difference to my overall grades and efficiency, and the added financial support will also greatly help with my accommodation costs ensuring I can focus more on my academic work instead of having to work many hours a week in my part-time job."
