The Scholarship

Rushbond is a land and property development company with an enviable reputation for delivering high quality and imaginative developments. Their philosophy is to create distinctive buildings and places. In keeping with this innovative approach, Rushbond has been a strong supporter of the arts in the Yorkshire region for many years and they are now looking at other ways to encourage creativity through the arts in Leeds.

The Rushbond Arts Scholarship seeks to reward five, talented, first year and final year, undergraduate students who are studying courses in our School of Art, Architecture & Design.

How will it help you?

If your application for the Rushbond Arts Scholarship is successful you will be awarded £1,000 in the February, following completion of semester one. This funding is to be used to assist you with the costs related to living and studying at university

Who can apply?

  • students who are high achievers in their A level studies
  • students who are studying courses in our School of Art, Architecture & Design
  • students who are in their first or final year at Leeds Beckett University
  • students with a home address is in a “LS” postcode
  • students who have a household income of less than £25,000
  • students who are the first in their family to attend university

How to apply

Students eligible to apply will be notified by the University in the week ending 19 December 2014.

There is a three-stage application process for the Rushbond Arts Scholarship.

Stage 1
Applicants should complete the Rushbond Arts Scholarship application form before the deadline of 12.00 (Noon) on Friday 30 January 2015. 

Stage 2
Applicants' current Personal Tutors will be contacted to provide a reference for applicants.

Stage 3
The successful applicants will be selected via the Rushbond Arts Scholarship Selection Panel and the Scholars notified by 6 March 2015. 

Scholars will be required to attend a lunch in the week commencing 9 March 2015 to meet the Rushbond team and our University press team.  Following this lunch funds for the scholarship will be released to the Scholar’s nominated bank account.
