Enya Verity

An aspiring Bradford filmmaker has been awarded a prestigious arts scholarship to support her studies at Leeds Beckett University.

Enya Verity, who is in her final year of a BA (Hons) Graphic Arts and Design degree, is one of seven Leeds Beckett undergraduates to have been selected to receive the funding from property investors, Rushbond Plc.

The 21-year-old former Immanuel College pupil said: “This scholarship is going to be of huge benefit to me whilst finishing my degree and in my future career. After I graduate this summer I am hoping to set up my own film studio here in Leeds, so this funding is going to be of great help towards that in relation to the lease costs for the studio space and the studio equipment needed.

“At university to begin with I was very focussed on making animation films, but as my degree has progressed I have now started to specialise in green screen filmmaking, which is something I could really take forward with my own studio space.”
