Greg Holmes

An aspiring professional photographer has been awarded a prestigious arts scholarship to support his studies.

Greg Holmes, who is in his final year at Leeds Beckett University studying a BA (Hons) degree in Graphic Arts and Design is one of seven undergraduates from the university to have been selected to receive the funding from property investors, Rushbond Plc.

The 21-year-old, who hopes to become a full-time photographer after he graduates this summer, said the scholarship would make a huge difference to him as he would be able to use the funding towards a professional-standard camera and photography equipment. He commented: “I am already working as a part-time semi-professional photographer, but the Rushbond Scholarship has given me the support I need to take that further after university.

“While I mostly do landscape photography, my skillset is wide and once I am able to work full-time I will be able to offer services for a broad range of photography styles from weddings to press, to festivals and music events. Being able to purchase a professional camera will mean I have the resources I need to go forward in my career and take my business immediately forward after university – which is the best position I can ask to be in as a graduate.”
