How our alumni and friends make a difference

Each year the generosity of our alumni and friends means that through the Bright Futures Scholarships, we can make a direct impact on the lives of deserving students. Everyone who has supported these scholarships has made an incredibly valuable decision to offer a brighter future to the next generation of Leeds Beckett students.

“A university education should be a right rather than a privilege, therefore scholarships helping those less fortunate, get my seal of approval. My motivation to donate was really sparked when I heard about how you look to support those who are unable to attend University due to their circumstances, as having had such a great time here I would like to hope that everyone could share the same great university experience that I had,” explains previous supporter Sarah.

As a member of our alumni community or friend of the University you can find out more about our scholarships online, by email (, or by phoning 0113 812 3145.

The Bright Futures Scholarships

As one of the most popular universities in the UK we are committed to ensuring that the opportunity to experience and benefit from an education at Leeds Beckett University should be open to all regardless of their background.

To make this a reality, our Bright Futures Scholarships provide financial support to undergraduate students who otherwise might struggle with the costs of their university education. The Scholarships are a cash bursary of £1,000 each, paid in two instalments, the first on the award of the scholarship and the second after the successful completion of the first term. For the 2017/18 academic year we will be awarding seven scholarships.
