Centre for Urban Development & Environmental Management

CUDEM (Centre for Urban Development & Environmental Management) is a Leeds Metropolitan research centre which brings together academics interested in planning, housing and human geography.

It provides a dynamic interdisciplinary environment engaged in high quality academic inquiry and policy-related research. CUDEM was formed in 1989 with its origin in planning courses first run in Leeds seventy years ago. In recent years the knowledge base has diversified into an integrated set of courses and research programmes around spatial planning, governance, sustainability and urban and regional regeneration.
