The Students’ Union is there to provide an excellent experience for all students. As soon as you join Leeds Beckett you become part of its thriving family. Through course reps, volunteering opportunities, societies, events and support, the Students’ Union is there to help and connect you every step of the way.

Meeting new people and braving something new seems more of a challenge. However, that does not always need to be the case. Whether you’re a first year or final year the Students’ Union has a range of different societies to try. Whether you’re creative, sporty or would like to connect with more people on your course, they have a society for you. What’s more, if you have a good idea for a new society the Students’ Union will help you set one up. So, check out what’s on offer, you can try something new and make new friends on the way.

The Students’ Union’s volunteering opportunities allow students to integrate into the university and local community. In addition, it is a great way to meet like-minded people. Although there are less in-person opportunities the Students’ Union has been working hard to ensure there’s plenty for you to be part of. The Students’ Union provides a supportive community where students are represented and listened to. If you have a problem, you can contact the Advice team. They can help on matters regarding finances, housing or academic issues as well as anything else that springs to mind. The Students’ Union’s Course Rep system is on hand to help students with course-related issues or queries. Furthermore, they are constantly working to ensure that every student community receives fair and equal representation. We at Leeds Beckett stand against discrimination of any type. Students have the opportunity to be a voice for their community and improve student experiences.

Being part of a shared community and having shared experiences are an important part of your time at university. The Students’ Union is always hosting a number of exciting events such as game nights.
