Supporting small business growth

Young businesses that want to grow are being offered funded business support and expertise by Leeds Beckett University through an innovative business programme.

European union Ad-Venture

The European Regional Development Fund AD:VENTURE programme, is a partnership of Leeds City Region councils, chambers, universities and private sector organisations, that aims to boost growth and job opportunities in the early years of business.

The AD:VENTURE programme offers a range of opportunities for the university and entrepreneurs to work together and exchange knowledge. These include:

  • Workshops – a series of events to develop knowledge and skills in leadership and management, business planning, networking, sales and marketing.
  • One to One Support – academic mentoring focusing on development of businesses to help drive growth.
  • Entrepreneur Knowledge Exchange – facilitated peer to peer learning and sharing knowledge with like-minded entrepreneurs.
  • Dedicated Support – offered to businesses based in Calderdale looking to develop a digital solution.

Dr David Devins, a Principal Researcher at Leeds Business School, said “This is an exciting opportunity for our academics to engage with the business community and to work with them to promote business sustainability and growth in the region.”
