We know writing your assignments can be scary, whether its finding the information you need, structuring or referencing - but don't worry there are lots of ways the Library can support you.
This Halloween members of the Library team will be out and about so come and say hello and hopefully we can help to calm those fears. We don't bite...honest!
Look out for us:
- Tuesday 30 October 11:00-14:00 Headingley Student Hub
- Wednesday 31 October 11:00-14:00 Leslie Silver Gateway (near Gaia Coffee Shop)
If you can't or don't want to come and see us (lets face it a librarian dressed as a witch is pretty scary!) here are some of the support options available to help you.
If you are unsure about where to find information for your assignment you could make an appointment with your Academic Librarian or take a look at their subject guides on the Library website to get you started. Use our Discover search tool, to find thousands of resources and scary references can be dealt with by making an appointment with one of our expert librarians.
Skills for Learning
Skills for Learning also offer appointments and workshops in finding information and their website includes information on understanding an essay question and structuring - both things that can cause concern.
In fact, why not come along to a workshop before you go trick or treating on 31 October at 11:00 in LSB104. Staff will be on hand to talk you through the essay writing process from beginning to end, including how to unpack the questions, find the right resources and produce a well structured piece of work. If you can't make it why not sign up to the webinar instead at 14:00.
This week also sees workshops on Statistics and Critical Thinking and a webinar on Referencing so help is on hand whatever your assignment needs. Just book via the Skills for Learning website.
