From the Royal Shakespeare Company and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to small medium sized venues across the UK, the national campaign is aimed at lobbying central Government for extra assistance to ensure the events industry can recover from the Coronavirus pandemic.

In Leeds, Northern Ballet and Leeds Playhouse as well as smaller venues have signed up to support this initiative.

The Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP) value the UK events industry at £70bn, employing an estimated 700,000 people. The event industry has a vast array of multipurpose venues, supported by an extensive network of event professionals. Since 1996, the UK Centre for Events Management has been providing events management education across the breadth of the industry, producing award winning students and making a positive contribution to industry.

Head of the UK Centre for Events Management, Dr James Musgrave said: “Our alumni, research and industry partners have all been immeasurably affected by the Covid 19 crisis. This small gesture is part of a series of actions we will take over the coming months to ensure we support the recovery of our industry and adaptation of our alumni”.
