Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools
School Mental Health Quality Mark
Schools promote wellbeing through their ethos, philosophy, vision, values and strategic priorities, as well as through their curriculum. At the same time schools are responding to emerging wellbeing issues and concerns, in which they are being asked to address.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Quality Mark is an assessment tool, which evaluates current mental health practices and initiatives undertaken by educational institutions. It aims to measure the level of effectiveness of overall mental health support and strategies that already exist within the education system, whilst also helping to identify gaps and how these can be developed and strengthened.
The Quality Mark has three levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Schools will be awarded the level of award which accurately reflects the effectiveness and impact of the policies and practices adopted in their school.
Our Quality Mark accreditation comprises of a paper and e-certificate, plaque to be displayed in your reception area at schools and an e-logo to display on your website and school stationary. Your school will also appear on our Quality Mark Hall of Fame on our website.
