Principal Consultant and Strategic Lead
Mary oversees the development and quality of our licensee provision for the Leadership Curriculum, including the NPQML (Level 1), NPQSL (Level 2), NPQH (Level 3), and Governance programmes.
She is an advocate of partnership working involving our alliance of teaching schools, known as Carnegie Teaching Schools Alliance, and our team of experienced associate facilitators. As a senior assessor for HLTA North, Mary works in partnership with Northumbria and Leeds Trinity universities to quality assure and moderate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) assessments. In addition, she externally assesses candidates across the north of England for HLTA status. This work includes developing opportunities for HLTAs to access Continuing Professional Development and be nominated for the annual HLTA of the Year Award for HLTA North.
Mary is passionate about learning and personal development, and promotes coaching to support transformational change. As an Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 accredited Coach in Leadership, Mary has led a variety of training and coaching programmes for leadership development, along with facilitating personal coaching sessions.
Mary began her teaching career in inner-city primary schools and has held various leadership roles and responsibilities within school improvement services in two local authorities.
