A fantastic UK-Ghanaian charity, KickStart Ghana (KSG), is looking for volunteers to support their summer school programme which takes place in a town called Ho. The charity work with local schools to empower disadvantaged young people and help equip them with the life skills to succeed. During weekends the team can visit some of Ghana’s little known but stunning coastlines, as well as explore the poignant reminders of the slave trade history. The main focus is for all volunteers to support the summer school activities and depending on skills and experience, volunteers can deliver sessions around sport/ PE, books/ reading, confidence and aspiration raising, the environment/ space and lots more.
- Prepare and deliver fun and educational sessions as part of KSG’s summer school programme;
- Provide one-on-one classroom support;
- Support the afterschool reading club;
- Deliver football coaching with local semi-professional club (for FA level 1 football coaches only).
Project location: Ho, Ghana
Duration: 4 and ½ weeks volunteering
Project dates: approx. 28th July – 4th September 2017

Cost: from £1,200-£1,400 (actual cost is £1,450 but all first time volunteers will receive a £250 bursary towards an international volunteering project). Inc. all travel, accommodation and food.
Fundraising: In addition to the fees, each volunteer has to raise a minimum of £400 which will be donated directly to support KSG programmes.
