Aspiration Education Foundation

Leeds Beckett Volunteering have supported projects Sri Lanka since 2008. We've partnered with Aspiration Education Foundation for several years and their aim is to support education, health and IT projects in rural areas across the country.

Volunteer role(s): volunteers will join programmes supporting rural education, health and development work with the Aspirations Education Foundation with school children. Volunteers are needed for a range of activities and will be working across the following projects themes:

  • Health promotion & first aid
  • Education
  • Sport development
  • IT & computing
  • Creative arts

Project location: Colombo & rural regions in Sri Lanka

Project dates: 15 - 31 July 2017

Duration: 2 weeks volunteering, optional 1 week holiday

Team size: 11

Cost: from £1,200 (Actual cost is £1450 but all first time volunteers will receive a £250 bursary from the University)

Fundraising: £100 to contribute directly to the charity that you will be working with.

Information session: Wednesday 7th December 2016 (12pm - 2pm) Headingley Hub

Selection event: Thursday 26 January 2017 (4pm - 6pm)
