Tools For Learning
Whatever your motivation for choosing a Distance Learning qualification whether it be career progression or simply studying a subject you have an interest in, Leeds Beckett have the experience and resources that will help you achieve your goal.
You’ll be appointed a module tutor who understands the commitments of a Distance Learning student and will guide you both personally and academically. Our teaching staff have the skills, research and expertise to guide you through the course and offer support throughout your studies via email, telephone and skype.
As well as your module tutor, you will have access to our online community boards, where you can receive that additional support from both university staff and other students around the world who are studying a online qualification just like you.
Instead of attending lectures or seminars in person, you will have access to our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). The VLE gives you access to course materials such as videos, e-books and other documents. You will also use it to submit your assignments and to receive feedback.
As well as the VLE you’ll communicate with us through our online library, online forums, Skype conference calls and email. Some of our courses give you the opportunity to access live lectures, podcasts and blogs – there’s even the chance to attend an on-campus learning weekend for certain courses.
