Leeds Beckett is renowned for our fantastic facilities, and it's not only our students on campus that benefit from them. Being ranked 4th in the world for virtual learning*, you will find our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) a great tool to support your study. The VLE is the hub to where you will find information on student support, all of your course materials, IT support, global career opportunities and much much more. You will also use it to submit your assignments and to receive feedback.
Our online library is also available through the VLE and offers access to 140,000 ebooks, journals, databases and newspapers. As well as this we have a book postal service for students who live in the UK or the EU. Our library staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. This means no matter what time of day you choose to study, library support is available by telephone, email and through our online chat.

As a distance learning student at Leeds Beckett you will have the opportunity to join our volunteering teams around the world. From building playgrounds in Uganda, protecting sea turtles in Greece to maintaining nature reserves in Costa Rica, we have a variety of projects to suit your interests.
To make them as flexible as possible for working professionals, our projects vary in duration and run at different times of the year. Whether you would like to enhance your CV, develop new skills or simply give something back, our International Volunteering Program is a great option.

All of our modules are individually designed for our distance learning students, offering the same teaching experience as our students on campus, but in bite-sized, more manageable activities.
Our experience of running distance learning qualifications for a number of years means that we understand the pressures of studying whilst balancing work pressures and family commitments, that’s why we offer students the flexibility of studying at their own pace.
Each module has weekly activities that are carefully created to be engaging, interactive and insightful. Each activity outlines how long it should take you and is designed to be compatible with all devices, which means you can study on the go.

8. Student support
As a Leeds Beckett student, you will have access to a wide range of support options to help you during your time studying with us. Our Student Hub is made up of specialist teams in a wide range of areas such as disability support, money advice, careers advice, counselling, English language assistance and much much more.
As well as all of this, we understand the additional pressures a distance learning student has. You’ll be appointed a module tutor who understands the commitments of a distance learning student and will guide you both personally and academically. Our teaching staff have the skills, research and expertise to guide you through the course and offer support throughout your studies via email, telephone and skype.
