Employers on Campus

We host a wide range of events throughout the year, where you can learn about a variety of career options, network with employers and make valuable industry contacts. As well as being a great opportunity for our students, these events provide an excellent chance for employers to share information about their organisation, provide industry expertise and recruit for their graduate, placement or part-time opportunities.

Careers Fairs

We run three large Careers Fairs each year which are open to all students:

  • Part-time Jobs Fair
Focusing on local employers with available part-time roles to fit around your studies.
  • Graduate and Placements Fair
Major employers offering a diverse range of graduate opportunities and placements. Here you can meet a variety of national and global employers, as well as a range of small and medium sized organisations (SMEs) from the region and beyond.
  • Spring Jobs Fair
Meet a variety of employers, with a range of part-time, graduate and placement roles available.

In addition to these, we also run a number of events that focus on a specific sectors or areas of work, to help you gain a deeper understanding of key industries.

Sector Specific Events

You can attend sector specific events and workshops throughout the academic year. These range from careers fairs to information sessions, networking opportunities and insight days.

In recent years, we’ve run a number of sector specific events, including our Built Environment and Engineering Careers Fair, Get into Teaching Fair, our Careers in Digital and Tech series, Law Enrichment Week programme plus many more!

Our ‘Spotlight On‘ workshop series focuses on a particular sector such as retail, civil service, hospitality or finance and connects employers with our students in an informal setting. Employers discuss sector experiences and challenges, and offer advice on how to successfully start a career. It’s a great way to gain first-hand insight into a particular sector and learn what type of skills you need to succeed.

Stay Up To Date With What’s On

In addition to our annual events, we are always developing new ways to work with students and provide them with a range of opportunities to explore their career options. Our programme of student events changes from year to year, allowing you to access a varied programme of activity and for us to make sure our support stays relevant to labour market trends and meets the changing needs and ambitions of our students.

My Hub, our online student system, is the best way to keep up to date with the range of events and employer activity happening on campus. Make sure you check our Events and Workshops calendar regularly to stay up to date with what’s on.
