Biochemical Society Seminar - Sialic Acid Utilisation by Bacterial Pathogens

Guest Speaker: Dr Gavin Thomas, University of York

Gavin is the Senior editor for the journal of Microbiology and member of the BBSRC committee B and is particularly interested in the interaction between human pathogens and their host cells. His laboratory is focusing on the role of Sialic acid (transport and metabolism) in bacteria (Haemophilus influenzae and Buchnera aphidicola).

This is the sixth seminar in a series to be held in collaboration with the Biomedical Society Students, the Biochemistry Society and Leeds Beckett University.
