Carnegie Conversations: From Parks to Pavilions - South Asian Heritage and Cricket in Yorkshire


Discussing the Heritage Lottery funded project 'From Parks to Pavilions: Documenting the History of Asian Cricket in Yorkshire'.

Thomas Fletcher, Senior Lecturer in the School of Events, Tourism, Hospitality and Foreign Languages will be in conversation with Mobeen Butt, Project Lead for the Heritage Lottery funded project 'From Parks to Pavilions: Documenting the History of Asian Cricket in Yorkshire'.

Thomas and Mobeen will be joined by a panel of experts who will discuss, how cricket has featured in the story of South Asian migration to Yorkshire, how cricket was developed and played within these communities, as well as, exploring contemporary challenges and asking 'what next?' for cricket in the region. The event will also showcase a teaser trailer for the 'From Parks to Pavilions' video documentary and have on display a small exhibition of photographs collected by the project.
