Journey Through the Mirror Pool

Sound installation as part of Supersenses exhibition at the Science + Media Museum in Bradford.

This project is a collaboration between Dr Alan Dunn, Chris Watson (Noise Orchestra) and staff and students from the School of Art, Architecture & Design at Leeds Beckett and the University of Bradford. The piece of work being shown at the exhibition the Supersenses exhibition investigates how technology can extent our senses. 'Journey Through the Mirror Poll' is a 9 minute sonic descent from the 67m high clock tower next to Bradford's Mirror Pool fountain, down to water level and, uniquely, through this plane down into the mechanical workings below. Where once workers travelled away from industry to the coast for leisure, the piece explores how hidden engineering is now serving this 'urban beach'.
