Research Assemblies: Assessing accessible tourism research: diversity, trends and future agenda

Research assemblies combine seminars offered by guest-speakers with research meetings whereby current developments in our fields are discussed by all academic colleagues.

The International Centre for Research in Events, Tourism and Hospitality (ICRETH) Assemblies are a series of seminars and research meetings organised around one main theme. The theme for the academic year 2018/2019 is Diversity within Events, Tourism and Hospitality. This a theme left broad by design so that guest speakers will be able to tackle it from their preferred standpoint. We are committed to generating further discussion and raising awareness to the importance of diversity, internationalisation, inclusion, gender and intersectionality in our research, and more generally through-out academia.

Assemblies Format

The ICRETH assemblies combine seminars, offered by guest-speakers, with research meetings whereby academic colleagues can discuss current developments in their field. The guest-speakers are invited to present for 30 – 45 minutes, with time afterwards for questions and debate. Discussions are encouraged to continue over a working lunch.

*For guests outside of the School of Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management please contact icreth@leedsbeckett.ac.uk two weeks in advance of the event to register your attendance.
