Examining Research Awards

The role of an examiner for research awards

This interactive workshop will address some of the issues and challenges of examining research degrees, and will be particularly suitable for those new, or relatively new, to this aspect of research practice. It will consider three aspects: i) what is doctorateness and how to assess it? ii) the roles and responsibilities of an examiner/ examination team and iii) how to become an examiner - and what to be clear about before saying 'yes'! This workshop maps to Domains A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, and D1 of Vitae’s Researcher Development Framework.
