Celebrating Louis Le Prince

Celebrating Louis Le Prince. In conjunction with Leeds International Film Festival, the Northern Film School is delighted to announce the first annual Louis Le Prince lecture and an exhibition of his life and work.

Louis Le Prince, the cinema pioneer, is internationally recognised for filming the world’s first moving images in Leeds.

In the spirit of pioneering and experimental film making, the Northern Film School is proud to present a collection of experimental films made by students at Leeds Beckett University between 2013 – 2017. 

These films will be screened daily on the Portland Video Wall at the new Portland entrance until 16 November. 

Special screenings as part of the Leeds International Film Festival will be held on Leeds Big Screen at Millennium Square on the following dates in November.

Friday 10th: 13:00, 17:00 and 19:00

Saturday 11th: 13:00, 17:00 and 19:00

Tuesday 14th: 13:00, 17:00 and 19:00

Thursday 16th: 13:00, 17:00 and 19:00
