Graduate Success Stories

Emma Endersby (Nee Haworth)

With a reputation for being one of the best institutions in the country to study Public Relations, Emma, a Sports Marketing and PR graduate, was naturally attracted to Leeds Beckett by the course, but it was also our University’s fantastic reputation for sports and sports facilities that appealed to her.

Emma is currently a Sponsorship Account Executive at The Rugby Football League, the governing body for rugby league, a job she feels can be attributed to her time at our university, as she explains: “I did my two week work experience as part of my course, but I then continued to work for the company whenever I had spare time which gave me invaluable experience, which was certainly a big part of the reason I got my current job. In fact, I was interviewed and offered this job [at the RFL] before I even graduated!”

Emma believes that in the current job market and especially in competitive sectors such as PR that it is critical for students to ensure their CVs are as complete as possible, she said: “When you leave, there will be so many students in the same position as you and potential employers will be looking for something that makes you stand out from the other candidates.”
