Tickets

How many guests can I bring?

All students who book before Wednesday 1 June are allocated two guest tickets. Tickets cost £10 each for adults and children aged 10 and above, and £5 for children aged three to nine years.

Bookings for Graduation 2016 are now closed. If you would like to attend and have not booked your place please contact your Graduation Team as soon as possible.

Additional guest tickets are available, visit our Book your tickets page to see when additional guest tickets will go on sale. These are available on a first-come first-served basis.

The cost of a guest ticket covers any onsite parking, entry to the Auditorium and a copy of the ceremony programme. Once bookings close on Wednesday 1 June, we will calculate if we can offer any additional guest tickets. We will inform all students via email by Thursday 9 June of any more availability. Please note, we cannot guarantee extra guest tickets will be available.

What do I do if I can't get the amount of guest tickets I require?

Any friends or family without a ticket will be able to view your ceremony at our live screenings in lecture theatres A, B, C and E in James Graham (location 5 on the graduation map). These screenings are free of charge. However, we ask that you complete the live screening question when buying your tickets to let us know how many places you will require.

What do I do if I or any of my guests have support needs?

Our Headingley Campus is set in extensive grounds and this should be taken into consideration for anyone with mobility difficulties. Please view our graduation distances map which will provide a scale of the campus.

If you or any of your guests have support needs, please complete the appropriate section (step two) when booking your place and your guest tickets (this includes parking for Blue Badge holders).

The Auditorium is accessible to wheelchair users. However, there will be stairs up to the stage for students. A lift will be available, but please notify us before your graduation day if you will need to use it.

If you have already booked your place but did not notify us of any support needs, please contact the Graduation Team at graduation@leedsbeckett.ac.ukas soon as possible.

Where do I collect my tickets from?

Tickets are not posted out. You will collect them from the Graduation Hub on the day of your ceremony (location 1 on the graduation map). Please bring your Online Store booking confirmation emails with you as well as student/photo ID.

Graduation attendance and eligibility

Will my award certificate be given to me on the day

Your award certificate will normally be given after you cross the stage on graduation day. If you made a late booking for Graduation we might not have been able to arrange for it to be given on the stage, but it can normally be collected on the day from our certificate query desk.

If you completed your award earlier in the year your certificate might have already been posted to your home address and so will not be available to give to you on Graduation day.

What name will appear on my award certificate

Your certificate will show the name held for you on our student record system at the time of the award being recommend by the Board of Examiners. Please ensure that you check your details before this on MyBeckett to confirm that we hold the correct and full version of your name. You can view your information on the Update My Data channel on the My Account page. If there should be any changes to your name please contact your student administrator. No retrospective changes to names on certificates will be allowed.

What if I am unsure if I am eligible to attend?

Most students eligible to attend Graduation 2016 will receive their final results in June/July. To guarantee your place and guest tickets for your graduation ceremony, you must book between 25 April and 1 June. If you subsequently do not pass your course, we will issue a full refund for any guest tickets you have bought once the ceremonies have taken place.

If you do not book your place before 1 June but still want to attend Graduation 2016, you will be charged a late booking fee of £50. In such circumstances, we cannot guarantee you will be able to buy guest tickets.

What if I cannot make the date of my graduation?

If you are unable to make the date of your graduation please contact the Graduation Team who will try and accommodate you on another day. If you do not wish to attend Graduation 2016 you can graduate in absentia (receive your award without attending the ceremony).

Certificates not collected at the graduation ceremonies will be available for collection between Friday 5 August and Friday 12 August from Leighton 205, Headingley Campus. The office will be open from 09:00 - 17:00 (excluding weekends), and you can contact the Awards and Exams Team at AwardsandExams@leedsbeckett.ac.uk prior to collecting should you have any queries.

For more information about the awards and examinations process and any questions relating to award certificates, please see our Awards and examinations web pages.

Please note, if you do not attend Graduation 2016 or collect your certificate before Friday 12 August, your certificate will be posted out to the address held on your student record, so please ensure your course administrator has your most up-to-date contact details. (Certificates will be posted out within eight weeks of graduation.)

What happens to my certificate if I an unable to attend graduation

If you are unable to attend your graduation day, you can collect the certificate from our Awards & Examinations office (Leighton 205, Headingley Campus) between 5 and 12 August 2016. You will need to bring photo ID such as your student ID card.

From August 15 2016 we will then post all certificates to the permanent home address that we hold for you on our student record system. Please check and if necessary amend your address on MyBeckett. For students who have a permanent home address in countries that we have been advised have got unreliable postal services we will withhold your certificate until you get in touch with our Awards & Exams office to confirm your preferred postal or collection method.

Data protection

For data protection reasons, we are only permitted to correspond with the student who is due to graduate. Should the graduand need a parent/guardian/friend to call us on their behalf, we will need their written permission stating their name, student ID and the name of their nominated person before we can speak to their nominee. The nominated person will also need to quote the graduand's full name, course and student ID number when we speak to them.

Your full name and course will be listed in the ceremony programme. If you do not want your name to be included in the programme, please email graduation@leedsbeckett.ac.uk by Wednesday 1 June. We cannot guarantee we will be able to comply with requests received after this date.
