Introduction

This site is intended to help staff appreciate the difficulties that students with a variety of different impairments experience when using electronic learning materials. In particular it uses computer based assessment questions to highlight issues that may arise and hinder students' successful interaction with computer aided assessment.

The links on the left offer access to various questions which are categorised under four main types of impairments. Each category has an introductory page outlining key issues associated with the impairment and the computer based assessment approach together with a series of questions demonstrating some of the problems.

The links on the right offer access to useful sites that provide more detailed information on related topics. As you progress through the categories and questions these links become more specific. Links on this introductory page are quite general: those on the visual impairment category offer access to information about visual impairment in general, and those associated with specific questions provide access to detailed information about the specific impairment presented e.g. colour blindness or tunnel vision.
