This site is intended to help staff appreciate the
difficulties that students with a variety of different impairments
experience when using electronic learning materials. In particular it
uses computer based assessment questions to highlight issues that may
arise and hinder students' successful interaction with computer aided
The links on the left offer access to various questions which
are categorised under four main types of impairments. Each category has an
introductory page outlining key issues associated with the impairment
and the computer based assessment approach together with a series of questions
demonstrating some of the problems.
The links on the right offer access to useful sites that
provide more detailed information on related topics. As you progress
through the categories and questions these links become more specific.
Links on this introductory page are quite general: those on the visual
impairment category offer access to information about visual impairment
in general, and those associated with specific questions provide access
to detailed information about the specific impairment presented e.g.
colour blindness or tunnel vision.
