Entry requirements

We have provided below the minimum qualifications you will require depending on which level of study you are interested in. Entry requirements do vary for each course, but the information here will give you a general guide.

As well as your academic qualifications we will also consider your personal statement and references. If you are studying A Levels or the International Baccalaureate, you can find these entry requirements on the course page in our Online Prospectus.

South Africa entry requirements

Plus Icon FOUNDATION COURSES

Qualification: Senior Certificate with Matriculation

Grade: Less than 5 passes at 60%

English language requirements: IELTS 4.5 with no skills below 4.5

Plus Icon UNDERGRADUATE COURSES

Qualification: Senior Certificate with Matriculation

Grade: 5 passes a grade C or above or a score between 60% and 69%

OR

QualificationNational Senior Certificate (IEB / NSC)

Grade: 5 passes at Grade 5 or above or a score between 60% and 69% 

OR

Qualification: National (Technical) Certificate 

OR

Qualification: National Certificate (S1) & National Higher Certificate (S2)

English language requirements for all of the above: IELTS 6.0 with no skill below 5.5

Plus Icon POSTGRADUATE COURSES

Qualification: Bachelor degree

Grade75% for a 1st or 70% for a 2:1 or 60% for a 2:2

English language requirement: IELTS 6.0 with no skill below 5.5
