Leeds and our University

Leeds Beckett University

With a history stretching back almost 200 years, Leeds Beckett University is one of the most popular universities in the UK. Over 28,000 students are currently studying a Leeds Beckett University qualification in the UK or overseas. We offer foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate, research and distance learning programmes, with start dates in September and January.

Our University has two campuses, both in fantastic locations.  Our City Campus is located in the city centre and is the base for our award-winning buildings the Rose Bowl and Broadcasting Place. Our Headingley Campus is just 4.8 kilometres / 3 Miles away set in a beautiful parkland with historic buildings dating from 1752.

Leeds is a modern international city and one of the most popular student destinations in the UK. It is one of the UK’s largest centres for business, legal and financial services outside of London, has an extensive choice of places to eat and drink and there are more than 1,000 retail outlets in the city. Located in the centre of the UK, and with excellent transport links, Leeds is a great base from which to explore Yorkshire, the UK and Europe. London is only 2 ¼ hours away by train.

Leeds is served by Leeds Bradford International Airport, with direct flights to more than 70 European destinations.

From the scenic Yorkshire Dales and the region’s glorious coastline, to wildlife, World Heritage Sites and thrilling days out, there’s plenty to enjoy if you want to get out and about in Yorkshire.

Yorkshire isn’t just the biggest county in the UK, it’s the best. That’s our view, anyway. Visit breathtaking countryside, the historic cobbled streets of York, the atmospheric cafés of Harrogate, charming market towns, or enjoy some fish and chips at Whitby’s atmospheric Abbey.

With so much to choose from, it's easy to see why Yorkshire was crowned Europe's leading Destination by the World Travel Awards 2013.
