The Carnegie Chargers welcomed Blue Peter to Headingley Campus during their weekend training session last Saturday to put presenter Lindsey Russell through her paces.
Lindsey got right into the thick of things, padding up, putting her helmet on and taking part in a series of plays – even managing to score a touchdown later on in the session.
The segment aired during Blue Peter’s programme on Thursday evening and Lindsey said she had been thrilled to take part.
She said: “'I was genuinely touched by how positive, warm, welcoming and brilliant all the players and coaches were.
“It was a pleasure playing with the teams and everyone was so kind and patient. I had such fun filming, thanks so much for having me - awesome sport and so much fun!”
The Chargers are the only women's American Football team in Yorkshire, based at Leeds Beckett.
We'll be hitting your screens at 5:00pm today!

Leeds Beckett University Sports Development Officer Dale Bottomley, who also runs American sports within the Carnegie Junior Sports Academy on a weekend, said: “It was a great experience for both the young players and women’s team to have Blue Peter on campus.
“It’s always good to help raise awareness of the sport in the region and nationally.”
