The reunion was hosted by our partners Leeds Rugby at Headingley Carnegie Stadium and guests enjoyed the pre-match hospitality before watching Yorkshire Carnegie rugby union in action, when they secured victory over Nottingham with a scoreline of 37-27.

Pete Mackreth, Head of the School of Sport, said: “It was great to see so many of our alumni on the day - those that attended had graduated as far back as 30 years ago and some as recent as last year. We’re really keen to build and maintain relationships with our alumni and it was inspiring to see the success they had enjoyed since graduating – I hope there will be more events to bring together alumni from our School in the future to maintain and build upon our Leeds Beckett community.”
Hussain Bashir, BA (Hons) Sport Marketing 2014, said he found the invitation a useful networking opportunity. He said: “Being a recent graduate, I find being able to connect with people in industry and business of real value.”
Sean Ellam and Duncan Richards, Sport and Recreation Development 2004, met at University and have kept in touch since studying together.
Duncan, now a PE teacher, said: “It’s good to still have connections with the university. I always wanted to teach and I am now teaching PE as well as being head of year.”
Sean, an operations manager for a housing association, added: “We’ve kept in touch since university and today’s a great opportunity to catch up with friends.”
