Introducing the Student Experience Team
16 April 2018
The Student Experience Team (SET) is here to help you make the most of your student experience and develop and achieve your full potential.
From time to time, you may require advice or have a specific question related to your student experience, if so, this is the team you can ask.
As well as answering a wide range of general enquiries, they are also the first point of contact for all Student Services teams, including –
· Student Money
· Student & Graduate Futures
The friendly and approachable team are trained to listen and triage enquiries, ensuring your needs are fully understood, and responded to quickly and professionally. They have a wide range of knowledge and expertise, along with access to key information and resources to support you. They may be the first and only team you need to speak with, however where your enquiry requires specialist advice or support, the SET will further assist you by putting you in touch with the relevant specialist team.
Frequent enquiries they assist with:
· Triage for complex enquiries, ensuring students are informed of the various support and advice available
· Replacement Student ID Cards and I.T Passwords
· Production of Bank Letters and Confirmation of Enrolment Letters
· CV Checks
· How to access part-time job opportunities
· Hardship application process
· Official stamping for documents such as Rail Card applications
The team also manage our Student Experience Twitter account, @BeckettSET. Here you can access lots of information regarding key events, news and university life.
One of the team’s key initiatives is to encourage student feedback. They are responsible for managing all feedback that comes through the university’s Tell Us What You Think Scheme. If you have any feedback you would like to share at any stage during your student experience, you can submit it here.
Over 80% of the team are Leeds Beckett graduates, so no matter what the question may be, they have probably heard it before, or perhaps even experienced the same issue themselves. There are no silly questions, no questions too big or too small. If it matters to you, then it matters to them.
You can visit them in person in either of our Student Hubs at City or Headingley, or at the Gateway in the Leslie Silver Building. Alternatively, you can contact them via email or telephone.
