Stress Management workshop to help employers avoid costly claims
Paul Jackson, who has 35 years’ experience in litigation, has created the workshop with other legal professionals and will present it with Simon Anderson of Park Square Barristers in Leeds.
The workshop will assist managers in dealing with occupational stress as soon as it manifests itself in the workplace. It is intended as a guide to help employers avoid the need for litigation services.
Explaining the aim of the workshop, Paul Jackson said: “Mismanagement can be costly: not only does the organisation or business face having to meet the cost of employee absence, but often the expense of the employee’s lawyers as well. In most instances this can be avoided with appropriate and well-informed management processes.
“On completion of the Stress Management workshop, attendees should be able to effectively manage employees who commence absence though occupational stress. In particular, they should have a clear understanding of their duties as an employer and how best to discharge them to the mutual benefit of both the sufferer and employer. In the event this is not possible, they will be equipped to manage the process efficiently and protect the business from becoming subject of costly litigation.”
The workshop is aimed at departmental heads, line managers and HR professionals.
