Huddersfield Town players on campus
Players from the Huddersfield Town FC first team came onto campus to take part in testing by the Carnegie School of Sport.
Academics from the Carnegie School of Sport, and sport scientists from the club carried out VO2 Max testing and lactate threshold testing on the players.
These tests measure the concentration of lactate in a person’s blood, and this result coincides with the player’s levels of fatigue.
The results determine how fit the players are currently. From this, the club is able to make data-informed training plans for individual players that will aim to improve theirs – and the club’s - performance.
The team will come back onto campus to be re-tested and have their fitness levels re-assessed before the next season begins.
