Exhibition for new Sport and Education Teaching & Research Facility
3 July 2017
We are planning a state of the art building that will home our Carnegie School of Sport: co-locating our highly specialist teaching and research laboratories.
Staff are welcome to attend an exhibition of proposed plans and designs for the new Sport and Education Teaching and Research facility at Headingley Campus this week. Two drop-in sessions are taking place in the Jubilee Room, in the James Graham building, on Tuesday 4 July, from 11:00 – 14:00, and on Wednesday 5 July, from 17:00 – 20:00. The sessions will provide the chance to see the plans and share your comments and suggestions.
This building will provide a focus for the School’s undergraduate, postgraduate and research and enterprise programmes. It will also act as a hub for elite athletes, sports and industry partners. The building will include a wealth of outstanding facilities that include: dedicated research laboratories, hypoxic laboratory, health and wellbeing studio, an indoor sprint track for performance training and analysis, a roof walking track and terrace, enhanced strength and conditioning space and changing and recovery facilities. In addition, there will be networking spaces for students, staff and visitors, a café, informal teaching space and learning support that will foster inter-disciplinary collaboration and knowledge sharing.
