Leeds Beckett ranked among the world’s best
22 September 2016 - H Welburn
Leeds Beckett is ranked for the first time in the league table of the world’s best universities.
The Times Higher Education table includes just 4% of the world’s 20,000 universities. The 980 institutions in the final listing were selected for inclusion based on their strong performance in teaching, research, industrial and international links, and peer-based reputation. The table includes 91 UK universities. Leeds Beckett was ranked 64th amongst UK HEIs and, along with Bradford and Huddersfield universities, among the top 601-800 in the world.
Professor Peter Slee, Vice Chancellor of Leeds Beckett University, said: "We are delighted to have earned a place in this prestigious table, and to be recognised as one of the world’s top universities. It is the growing strength of our research profile, the depth of our employer-led partnerships and the very strong employment record of our graduates that underpin our achievement."
