First Bus provide buses in and around the city that help students to travel around Leeds and its surrounding areas.

There has been an alteration to a number of the existing services that will affect students travelling between Headingley and City Campus.
Many of the changes have been made to simply improve the punctuality of bus services in Leeds, however read on for some of the major changes.
Service Changes:
- The First service 29 (Student Village – Leeds – Headingley) has been withdrawn and will now be partly replaced by the new service 1B.
Additional Services:
- First Bus service 1A: Leeds (Bishopgate Street) – Headingley – Ring Road, Lawnswood (this service runs half hourly Monday to Saturday during term time.)
- First Bus service 1B: Leeds (Bishopgate Street) – Headingley – Headingley Campus (this service also runs half hourly Monday to Saturday during term time.)
- Service 1 will run alongside these additional services that partially replace service 29.
If you are travelling between Leeds and Headingley, it pays to travel by bus, with First Bus offering student discount on their services. A student single ticket is £1.20 and you can get 10 single student trips for £11 when you show your Leeds Beckett University student card.
If travelling by bus doesn’t take your fancy, then you can always catch the train. The train from Leeds to Headingley leaves twice hourly, once at half past the hour and once on the hour throughout the day and takes roughly 8 minutes. The walk from Headingley station to the campus is approximately 10 minutes through Beckett Park.
If you’re more of a walker, then you will be pleased to know that both our campuses are within easy walking distance of most halls of residence and student areas. Click here to plan your journey through Leeds and get step-by-step directions, a map of your route, journey times and shortcuts.
Finally, being a student at Leeds Beckett means that you can benefit from our bike hire scheme. Here you can hire a bike for a small fee and get around the city with speed. Find out more about biking around the city and find our cycling guide here.
