Yesterday witnessed 47 teams from Leeds Beckett’s Athletic Union clubs take to the field for their first BUCS fixtures of the season.
Beckett’s two highlight matches of the week saw the Men’s 1sts Tennis team compete admirably against fierce rivals the University of Stirling, narrowly losing out 8-4 to the Scottish University.
Meanwhile Beckett’s Men’s 1st Lacrosse team snatched a last gasp victory to topple The University of Manchester 15-13 for their first win of the season.
Elsewhere Beckett RUFC continued their impressive start to their BUCS Super Rugby season with an impressive 36-10 victory over Nottingham Trent University to take them to the top of the table.
There was also a massive victory for Beckett’s RUFC’s 2nds who ran riot against St Andrew’s 1st team 61-0, whilst Beckett’s Men’s Rugby League kickstarted their season in style with a 32-8 rout over rivals the University of Hull.
There were also notable wins for Beckett’s Mens 1sts and Women’s 2nds Football teams with Beckett’s Mens beating Liverpool Hope University 5-4 in their goal fest and Beckett’s Women’s team toppled Bangor University 2-1 in an exhilarating match.
