Leeds Beckett students to support star-studded ARIAS
The awards – designed to recognise the great and good of the UK’s audio and radio sector –will benefit from the talent of Leeds Beckett students from digital journalism, broadcast media technologies, events management and sports events management courses.
The students will work across a number of roles at the First Direct Arena on 18 October, including filmmakers, runners, social media executives, artist liaison and photographers.
Leeds Beckett students first volunteered at the ARIAS in 2016, giving them the valuable work experience they need to land their dream job in the industry.
The relationship with the ARIAS is the latest in a long line of successful partnerships with employers in the music, audio technology, performance arts, production, and broadcast media sectors: students have benefited from our involvement in Live at Leeds, Hove Festival, Reading and Leeds Festival and Latitude.
In addition to supporting the ARIAS, Leeds Beckett’s conference centre, Cloth Hall Court, will host the second day of the Segue event, run in association with the Radio Academy and LeedsBID.
The event is a new national radio and audio expo held in the city on 17 and 18 October and brings together industry figures, world-leading innovators, presenters, podcasters and producers.
Cloth Hall Court – based in the heart of Leeds – will host the event’s second day, which will see a range of industry panels, keynote speakers, masterclasses, networking sessions and careers advice.
A key feature of Leeds Beckett’s education strategy is creating opportunities for students to experience industry whilst still at university, helping boost their employment potential and success.
