Leeds Beckett shines in international student survey
Results from the latest International Student Barometer (Summer Wave 2015) reveal that Leeds Beckett ranked first in the world for its Virtual Learning Environment, whilst its Online Library ranked first in the UK and second in the world.
The International Student Barometer is an annual in-depth survey of international students across 69 institutions worldwide. Results from the survey also showed that Leeds Beckett's technology ranked first in the UK and second in the world. Internet Access ranked second in the UK and third in the world, whilst its Learning Spaces ranked third in the UK and fourth in the world.
Speaking about the results, Andrew Disbury, Director of the International Office at Leeds Beckett said: “Our international students contribute a great deal to the vibrancy of student life here at Leeds Beckett and these outstanding survey results are truly a reflection of their experience of studying with us. We very much value all forms of student feedback, and the results from the International Student Barometer will allow us to continue to enhance our study environment and provision for all of our students.”
The results from the International Student Barometer also showed that Leeds Beckett’s Campus Buildings ranked third in the UK and fifth in the world. Personal Tutors ranked fourth in the world, Course Organisation ranked fourth in the UK and fifth in the world, whilst Physical Libraries ranked fourth in the UK and fifth in the world.
98% of students surveyed responded that they are satisfied with Leeds Beckett’s IT and systems support, 92% of students are satisfied with Leeds Beckett’s virtual learning environment, clubs and societies and campus buildings, whilst 92% of students say Leeds Beckett University is a good place to be.
The Student Barometer survey is independently administered by the International Graduate Insight Group. This is an independent survey of 69 institutions worldwide, of which 51 are in the UK.
The response rate for the International Student Barometer (Summer Wave 2015) was the best ever for Leeds Beckett, with over 500 international students taking part. Leeds Beckett’s participation rate was higher than both the UK and global average response rate to the barometer.
