Inter Faith Week 2018 at Leeds Beckett
8 November 2018
The university is celebrating Inter Faith Week, which is taking place from Sunday 11 November - Sunday 18 November.
During the week, the aim is to strengthen good inter faith relations at all levels, increase awareness of the different and distinct faith communities in the UK and increase understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs.
Building good relationships and working partnerships between people of different faiths and beliefs is part of the year-round work of many people. Having a special week provides a focal point to celebrate diversity and commonality and highlights the good work done in local communities and organisations.
To celebrate, we’ll be flying the Inter Faith flag over the James Graham Building in Headingley.
Our Chaplain, Melvyn Kelly, shares the commitment of the Inter Faith network to promote good relations between persons of different faiths. He is interested in drawing together like minded members of the University community to explore, in conversation and shared events, how good interfaith relationships might be fostered on campus.
If you are interested in being part of such a group, please email Melvyn: firstname.lastname@example.org.
