Leeds Beckett students broadcast live showcase
The films document the students’ journey studying the module ‘GAD 5.2: The Process Brief’.
Throughout the module, students are required to adopt a process-led approach, an alternate method where it is not what they are making that is important, but the making itself. They are asked to follow three mantras: 'trust in the process', 'embrace uncertainty' and Sol Lewitt's short - but so true - 'just do'. The outcome of the Process Brief isn't a finished piece of work, but the learning of an essential, creative approach that the students will return to later on in their studies and in the years beyond.
Student Showcase is a monthly feature on Leeds Big Screen, celebrating the breadth and quality of work produced by Leeds Beckett University students. The showcase features exciting and sometimes challenging examples of creative work produced by students across a range of courses delivered at the University. This particular showcase will feature work from: Fattemah Alteraiqi; Rosie Blyth; Michael Butler; Liam Curtin; Nicole Duffy; Luke Escott; Rachel Hanson; Jack Howard; Callum Jackson; Sam Jenkinson; Shaun Mcmuldroch; Ben Offiler; Hannah Parton; Dominic Pearson; James Pollock; Athanasios Raptis; Louise Roberts; Amy Roper; Jaydon Rowbottom and Harvey Steele.
Gemma Povey, Partnerships Manager at Leeds Beckett University, said: “The Big Screen Partnership are committed to providing a platform to showcase student work and giving them the opportunity to disseminate their work to a wider audience. We are excited to be utilising Facebook to broadcast live for the first time.”
