New accreditation for Leeds Beckett's Biomedical Sciences courses
This accreditation is awarded to courses that meet the academic requirements to cover the standards of proficiency for biomedical scientists and are tailored towards the industry.
Biomedical Sciences at Leeds Beckett already have accreditation from the Royal Society of Biology, which ensures our graduates have the subject relevant biosciences skills employers look for, and it’s rare to have both this and the IMBS accreditation.
Dr Wayne Roberts, Course Director for Biomedical Sciences in the School of Health at Leeds Beckett University said: “This new accreditation means our students are being well prepared for their future careers in Biomedical Sciences.
"We have also appointed state registered clinical practitioners to teach on our courses alongside our qualified academics. This means our students can benefit from the first-hand experience these staff have of being Biomedical and Clinical Scientists.
"These newly appointed staff will help provide career guidance for those wishing to become Biomedical and Clinical Scientists, and will help ensure we continue to teach a curriculum relevant to the health care sector.”
