Stress Awareness Month
Stress Awareness Month runs throughout April and is aimed at raising awareness about both the causes and cures of the modern stress epidemic. According to the Mental Health Foundation, 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year that they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope.
Stress is a significant factor in mental health problems including anxiety and depression. It is also linked to physical problems like heart disease, problems with the immune system, insomnia and digestive problems.
This month Leeds Beckett University is offering various online courses and support to help you reduce your stress levels. To find out more please visit the Student Wellbeing Team page.
Sessions on offer include:
- Look after your mate workshops – workshops on 13 and 22 April
- Tools and techniques for student mental health – four-week course starting 7 April and 19 April
- Stress control course (daytime) – starts 9 April
- Stress control course (evening) – starts 15 April
