Beckett RFC aiming to bounce back against Super Rugby Champions

Leeds Beckett RFC aim to get back to winning ways as they travel to reigning Champions Hartpury University for this week’s Super Rugby fixture

Beckett RFC

BUCS Super Rugby Round 8

Wednesday 15 November

Hartpury University vs Leeds Beckett University

Kick-off 7pm

Leeds Beckett are all set to face inaugural BUCS Super Rugby Champions Hartpury after suffering a rare 24-18 defeat to high-flying Cardiff Metropolitan University last time out.

Cardiff proved to be a tough test for the Bears but Beckett can take pride in their attitude and work ethic, two factors that helped them gain a very late but crucial bonus point last week.

Despite last week’s disappointing result, Beckett’s attention has switched to this week's upcoming match against Hartpury, a fixture Rugby Programme Manager Kerry Wood is salivating over.

“The boys’ effort in training this week has been really good, we’ve worked hard and the team are eager to bounce back and show our worth against last season’s champions Hartpury.”

“Last week was a really tough game us, it was a physical encounter and Cardiff were good for their victory but we have plenty of positives to take from that match.”

Beckett have given call-ups to Fly-Half Michael Waters and Full Back Kieran Davies from the club’s second team, a testament to the second team’s great performances so far this season.

“We’re always eager to give players who work hard a chance, and I’m really pleased for Michael and Kieran on their selections this week and am keen to see how they fare playing at Super Rugby standard,” Wood said

Beckett’s match with Hartpury will kick off a 7pm and a live stream of the game will be available online, stay tuned on Twitter @LeedsBeckettRFC for more details.
