Leeds Beckett Academic Elected to Board of Directors for Professional Sports Therapist Body

Ashley Jones, Senior Lecturer from the School of Clinical and Applied Sciences has been elected onto the Board of Directors for The Society of Sports Therapists.
Having served as Secretary within the Society’s Communications Group prior to his election, Ashley has a wide breadth of knowledge surrounding sports injuries and rehabilitation, having worked in both professional football and private practice.
Ashley Jones said: “Having been a member of The Society of Sports Therapists for the last 13 years, it is a great privilege to be elected on to The Board of Directors. My aim is to continue the good work that is already taking place within the Society, whilst also driving forwards new initiatives that will benefit both our membership and the public. I must thank my colleagues and the management in supporting my application for the role.”
The Society of Sports Therapists is the leading organisation for industry professionals in the UK working to provide advice and governance to the Sports Therapy profession.
Ashley, who is currently studying towards his doctorate, will be able to represent Leeds Beckett at the highest level in the sports therapy field owing to his ongoing academic experience and studies.
