High-flyers Leeds Beckett RUFC will be looking to continue their dominant start to the season as they host 2nd place Cardiff Metropolitan University in a top of the table clash in the BUCS Super Rugby competition.

Beckett dispatched of high-flying Exeter last time out with an impressive 28-7 win, Beckett’s first ever home BUCS Super Rugby victory.

The Bears were ruthless in defence, denying the Exeter attack of certain tries on countless occasions and were equally as impressive and clinical in attack, scoring some classy tries including a brace from Winger Daniel Leake.

Rugby Development Manager Kerry Wood was impressed with his team’s efforts against Exeter and believes Beckett’s hard work is paying off.

“It was a really pleasing result for us last week against Exeter, I really believe that all the hard work we have put in since day one of pre-season is really paying off for us this year.”

Wood is also looking forward to this week's huge fixture against Cardiff and is confident of another impressive performance from Beckett.

“We’re really looking forward to our game against Cardiff this week, I think it'll be a real test of where we are at and where we still want to be this season,"

“If we stick to our processes and execute our game plan on Wednesday, we’re really going to trouble Cardiff and I think we’re more than capable of coming out with a positive result on Wednesday."

Beckett’s mouth-watering clash kicks off at 7pm at West Park Rugby Club with hot food and a bar available for all Beckett fans, so make sure to get down to the ground and cheer on the Beckett lads to victory!
