Leeds Beckett students help England to World Rugby U20 Championship
Scrum-half Max, BA (Hons) Sports Marketing, started the final of the World Rugby U20 Championship against Ireland as the Red Rose ran out 45-21 winners at the AJ Bell Stadium in Manchester.
England produced a breath-taking performance with three tries in each half to claim the U20 world crown for a third time.
It capped an outstanding personal tournament for Max who started pool stage wins against Italy and Scotland and scored an early try to set England on their way in the 39-17 semi-final win over South Africa.
Fellow Leeds Beckett student Josh Bainbridge, BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science, was also part of the victorious England squad.

Both flanker Josh and Max play for Yorkshire Carnegie and made 29 and nine appearances respectively last season.
Max also starred for our University team last year – including in the 27-13 Leeds Varsity win over the University of Leeds.
Colin Stephens, Head of Rugby at Leeds Beckett, said: “It’s outstanding for Max and Josh.
“Max came as an academy player who was a 10 or 9 and we managed to get him into a 9. That’s where we saw his future and he should be so proud of what he has achieved in two years as a university student.
“He was third-choice at one time but things happen and he worked very hard. He’s very modest. I’m thrilled.”
Congratulations to @wacker96 @LewisBoyce96 @JoshuaaBaino7 @Maxgreen_mgg @maxwright0 World Champions once again! Great result @EnglandRugby
