Your Applicant Journey
1. Our amazing campuses
When you live here it’s easy to take our campuses for granted. However, our idyllic Headingley Campus with its picture-perfect surroundings, and our City Campus in the heart of Leeds, are worth shouting about.
2. We invest in great facilities
We’re committed to looking at ways to make your experience as a student with us even better. In the last 10 years we’ve spent £194 million on improving facilities across our University, which include modern biomedical and sport science laboratories, highly acclaimed music studios and a £1 million clinical skills suite. Our 24/7 libraries have more than 325,000 books and 140,000 electronic resources to support you in your studies, whether it's on campus, online or on-the-go.
3. We'll improve your career prospects
Employability is at the heart of your learning - 96.8% of our undergraduate students are in work or further study within six months of graduating*. We offer free placement years on a range of courses and organise around 100,000 hours of flexible, paid work for students per year through our Job Shop.
4. Follow in famous footsteps
Time for a little name dropping – Olympic gold medallist Alistair Brownlee, rugby league legend Kevin Sinfield (pictured), Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, former England rugby union coach Stuart Lancaster and Piers Aggett and Kesi Dryden from Rudimental have all studied with us.
5. To spread your wings
We offer some amazing opportunities to see the world and experience different cultures by volunteering and studying abroad. From neighbouring Europe to Australia and the USA, you never know where your studies may take you. It’s great for your CV too.
6. We'll look after you (and we're great at it)
We have been awarded 4 out of 5 stars in the QS International Rankings and hold Customer Service Excellence standards for our whole institution. Check out our Student Support services.
7. You'll find a home from home
Moving into our Halls of Residence is a great way to meet new people and the easiest way to make friends at Uni. You’re guaranteed a place in our accommodation in your first year when you make us your first choice and apply before our booking deadlines.
8. You can join a society
Meet new people. Embrace your interests. Join a society. From film and gaming, to hula hooping and Harry Potter, there are plenty to choose from. And, if you’re a fan of something else, you can start your own!
9. Be part of a thriving sports community
Here at Leeds Beckett we love sport. With 40 Athletic Union Clubs and more than 80 teams, you'll have lots of opportunities to play competitive and recreational sport. We’ve also got our own student bike hire scheme – Velocampus Leeds. Hire a bike for £35 a semester and just £10 for the three months after that.
10. Varsity - it's kind of a big deal round here
Each year we take on University of Leeds in around 60 fixtures across 25 different sports, all in one day. The finale is the Men’s Rugby Union contest held at Headingley Stadium, which attracts thousands of students. We’ve won the last 10 Varsity events.
