After You Apply
What happens after you've applied?
We will process your application as quickly as possible and you should expect a decision within six weeks of applying unless there is a closing date for the course you have applied for in which case we will normally wait until this date has passed before considering all applications together.
Once we receive your application we’ll send you an email confirmation with your unique reference number. Your application will then be considered by our team who may be able to make you an offer straight away, may require more information, or may invite you to an interview.
Types of offer you could receive
- Unconditional Offer - If we are happy with your application and you have met all the entry requirements, then we can make you an unconditional offer. This means you definitely have a place on your chosen course. If you wish to accept our offer you will need to accept this through your Apply Online account.
- Conditional Offer - If you have not met all of the entry requirements yet (e.g. you might be waiting to take exams or receive results) we may make you a conditional offer. This offer means we are happy to have you on the course, as long as you achieve the appropriate qualifications. Once you have documentation evidencing your meeting of the entry requirements please either upload these to your Apply Online account or email them to the team.
- Unsuccessful Application - If we are not able to offer you a place, you will receive an unsuccessful application notification. It may be possible that we can offer you an alternative course and we will contact you separately to discuss this.
What else is there to consider?
Paying your fees
For information on career development loans, funding, paying your fees in instalments, employer funded study and working while you study, visit our Financing Your Studies page.
Most of our accommodation is aimed at first year undergraduate students in halls of residence. As a postgraduate student, if you are moving away from home for your studies, you may prefer the smaller, private house environment available through Unipol Student Homes.
If you have a family who is moving with you for your studies, you can talk to Unipol about your needs. Do this quickly though as there are only a few houses designed for students with children.
Online Welcome Service
At Leeds Beckett, we give you a very warm welcome. Our Online Welcome Service will give you all the information you need prior to arriving and those first few weeks. You will be able to set up an account on this system when you have accepted your place with us.
If you would like to visit Leeds Beckett to learn more about postgraduate opportunities, then please register for our Open Day.
We do have quieter blocks for Postgraduate students - please request this on your application form and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences.
For the majority of postgraduate courses we would require you to have an undergraduate degree, however the entry requirements vary from course to course. All entry requirements for our postgraduate courses can be found on our online prospectus.
For the majority of Postgraduate courses we do not have a set deadlines as there can be different start times throughout the year. Instead, we will continue to accept applications until the course is full. Therefore we would always recommend applying as early as possible.
Please be aware that some professional qualifications and postgraduate courses in the areas of Health and Education have an application deadline. If you have any questions about application deadlines, please get in contact with a member of the course enquiries team by emailing the Admissions team on firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephoning 0113 812 3113.
