The MA in Executive and Business Coaching is one of the longest established and most highly regarded coach training programmes available in the UK.

This is a practice-based course and is delivered by the executive and people development team at Leeds Business School who have considerable experience in research, people development and coaching arenas.

The programme provides you with the space to take a more holistic perspective of your current coaching practice and prior work and life experiences. We encourage and support you to enrich your knowledge and understanding of key theories and models and apply that understanding to enhance your skills and approaches to enhance your coaching praxis.

Your development through your studies is grounded in progressive problem-solving, reflective and reflexive ethically underpin practice. Our focus is to help you to become a reflective, critical and effective practitioner able to make a real contribution to humanity in the field of coaching.

It is for those who want to use coaching skills to re-define themselves and see and realise new insights to raise their game future opportunities. It is a fantastic starting point for those looking to start their own coaching business or add credibility through new skills and qualifications.

This course has been specifically designed to develop part-qualified and experiences coaches who wish, through deepening their theoretical knowledge take their coaching practice to a new level.

The aim of the programme is to enable you to explore a field a research in coaching and mentoring and, armed with these new insights, apply them to your coaching practice to provide you with specialist and leading coaching skills in your chosen field.

The programme is taught by experienced qualitative research experts who focus on making the course practical, realistic and honed to your specialist research theme requirements.  We help you to hone your ‘practical scholarship’ skills so as to enable you to effectively design, collection, analysis, report and disseminate your research findings.

This top up course is aimed at postgraduate experienced external or internal coaches, mentor co-ordinators, coaching psychologists, counsellors, coaching managers, coach supervisors, specialist coaching and mentoring human resources development consultants or coaching leadership professionals from the voluntary, public and private sectors.
Plus Icon Structure of the Programme
  • One three-day workshop, then working on a 1-2-1 coach-supervisor support, you will apply your knowledge and research focus to selected working contexts.
  • 22 hours of taught content during the block delivery with the aim to support you to develop your initial proposal and successfully complete your dissertation.
  • The programme champions action research as an approach to solving real problems that involves your taking action and reflecting upon the results, which helps improve the problem-solving process, as well as the solutions developed by the team.
  • A 18,000-word dissertation over one year.
