About Vernon Thomas
Vernon's passion is 'Creative Design'. He is constantly designing buildings, interiors and products. He is interested in developing new approaches to Design education. He has taught on M.Arch. B.A., Architecture, B.A. Product Design, B.A. Interior Architecture and Design, B.A. BSc. PGCE Initial Teacher Education.
Vernon has several design projects which he is developing at present. He is currently designing a totally new dwelling, which he aims to develop in conjunction with Leeds Beckett Sustainability Institute. He is also designing interiors and a range of domestic furniture and fittings.
Vernon's research interests are based around pedagogy relating to Creative Design abilities in undergraduate students. He is presently developing a new approach to the undergraduate curriculum for design students which could improve their three dimensional ideational fluency through the application of 'Meaning'.

Vernon is presently developing a new approach to the undergraduate curriculum for design students, which may improve their three dimensional ideational fluency through the application of 'Meaning'. Vernon's research in this area is at present at the feasibility stage, however he has introduced new teaching and learning strategies to two different design based courses in order to gauge how the curriculum might be developed and tailored to suit students needs.
